Tarucca Newsletter – November 2021

By Hans van Beek, CEO – Tarucca

Since Tarucca has made again significant progress in our mission to develop a 365 days/year condition monitoring and early damage detection solution for wind turbine blades, enabling predictive and optimized maintenance and lifespan asset management of these blades, I am very pleased to provide you a short summary on our progress.

▶️ AI For Wind Energy: Just this last week, we started a very exciting Artificial Intelligence crowdsourcing project. More than 25 AI engineers and enthusiasts will be working the coming months on data, feature and model engineering, using unique blade damage datasets from the wind energy industry. This is a major step in developing software models for detecting blade damage from data from accelerometers installed in blades.

🚀 Pilot installation: Furthermore, we are in the final phase of the preparation for the pilot installation of our photonic integrated circuit sensors and data capture system in a large wind turbine. This pilot will commence next quarter.

With these activities we are now embarking on our solution roadmap for early detecting and remote assessment of lightning strike and structural health damage and at a later stage leading edge erosion.

Co-founders: The above would not have been possible without the extension of our team with 2 co-founders with impressive technology competence and systems integration experience.

Finally, as always, I would like to thank you for the continued support and interest in our journey to accelerate the sustainability of our world.
