Tarucca Newsletter – February 2021

By Hans van Beek, CEO – Tarucca

It has been a very busy period for Tarucca providing good progression towards our mission of saving the wind energy industry billions of euros.

As you know, our structural health and condition monitoring solutions for wind turbine blades consists of a hardware platform around photonic integrated circuit sensors and software algorithms.

In the last period, we succeeded to partner up with a provider of already certified first-generation sensors into our system and with this it has pushed us forward to hit the market an estimated 12 months earlier.

Early measurements have proven that these sensors are a factor 10 more sensitive than the fiber-bragg-grating sensors as normally used in wind turbine blades, which obviously makes us confident that we are on the right track.

This puts Tarucca into a position to already now start executing the prototype deployment of sensors in full scale wind turbines, thus leapfrogging the company into a scheduled phase previously only estimated to occur in 2022.

This is a significant development as it will provide Tarucca with the opportunity to experience and harvest essential data for analysis of vibration shifts and signaling deterioration of the blades.

For Tarucca it is now important to select the right full scale prototype pilots.

Finally, as always, I would like to thank you for your continued support and interest on our journey to make the world more sustainable.
